She Leads

This past weekend, I had the beautiful opportunity to attend the SHE Leads women’s conference in Curaçao.

It was a women’s conference where the main focus was on empowerment, sisterhood, inspiration and connection. It was an experience I wish anyone who is ready to no longer hide in the dark could feel. If you’re ready to feel seen and acknowledged and are willing to step into the fullest, boldest version of yourself, this is that space for you. I myself will be speaking at the end of June at SHE Leads, the Netherlands, and I went to feel the vibes, immerse myself in the energy, connect with the community and be inspired before I receive the opportunity to step onto the stage to inspire others in return. This past weekend has truly left me feeling uplifted and more excited for what’s to come.

Silvetty de la Paz (Founder & Key Speaker) was sharing the following quote, which truly hit me to my core:

Audacity will help you outgrow the version of you everyone else got comfortable with.

Pffff! Like she directed this message right at me. My entire life, I have had the audacity to reach for the sky. Being a woman who often didn’t find what I needed changed me into the woman who had to become who I needed for myself. For my journey, I needed a lot of courage, audacity and balls. It was a very lonely road. A road that has left footprints for many following the same track, and I feel ease knowing I was able to make this tough, lonely way of life easier for others. We live in a time where people are slowly waking up. Propaganda has no longer the same effect, and slowly and surely, people are daring to trust their inner voice instead of the one from their surroundings or (old) conditioning.

To be able to have become this version of myself I now embrace, I had to allow myself to take risks, ask for the big things, take leaps over and over again (solo jumping is my brand verb for a reason), and to not be afraid to make many mistakes and build my own road. I learned over time that life is truly willing to meet you at your level of audacity!

This conference made me reflect on my journey and myself in new ways, as I have grown the muscle of audacity in my own life, yet often I feel like this is the first time in my life I no longer feel responsible to hold the line, or, better said, distance between my own growth and the comfort of others. For the first time in my life, I have the audacity to outgrow the version of me others were comfortable with. It’s a crazy thing to think of, as others should never hold that much power over anyone. But, we humans are animals, and therefore we naturally care for one another. We like to stick to the familiar, the known, the comfort, instead of allowing ourselves to blossom and become the flowers we were always meant to be.

Yet, for once (and the first time ever), I no longer feel responsible to make sure others are growing with me. I no longer feel responsible to make other people’s problems my own. And for once, I decided to cut the cord and to finally have the audacity to no longer remind others that that old version of me no longer exists. I feel truly reborn because of all the transformations I’ve been going through these past 20 years, but especially these past 20 weeks. Some days, I feel like I didn’t just attend the school of life, but, truly, the crash course of life. While others may take different lifetimes to work through certain levels of consciousness, I feel like life challenged me to get it all together in the shortest time span possible. All I can say is: I refused to let my past decide my future and I’m glad I did. I’m so grateful that even though there were many days I had to fight to see the sunrise again, I know I have that strength within me ’cause I was always destined to get here within this moment right now.

If you ever feel pulled towards a life that feels completely delusional, it’s important that you know deep down that you belong there. I truly hope you find the audacity in your life to outgrow the version of you others know, are comfortable with, or feel connected to. ’Cause the beauty of it all is that the more you do, the more of an aligned community you will attract that actually matches the purest, most real, most authentic version of yourself: a community that has the audacity to be as authentic in their own way as you are in your own way.

May you outgrow all the versions of you that you needed to survive, and may you grow into the version of you who feels safe in her own skin at all times on all levels. Safety within my own nervous system has been the biggest catalyst to my biggest transformation yet.

P.S. If you are a man reading this atm, the same words are for you. SHE Leads might not be the conference for you, but I believe great leadership for men can also come from the woman next to you. So, if you ask me, SHE Leads, the Netherlands will be the best gift you can give your woman/female friend and therefore yourself.
